MY PARKINSON’S DIARY
FIRST WALK OF SPRING
Monday, April 20, 2015
March 9, 2015
C'mon Gus, let's go now. You've gotta take it easy though. You pull me over and it's the last walk we'll take.
Remember Gus, any day I can walk and talk is a good day.
Okay, Gus, let's go out in the street here. We've gotta go around the truck parked in the driveway. Back on the sidewalk now. I think we'll be all right, but I'm keeping you on a short leash till we get up the hill here.
All right, Gus, now you can have a bit more leash here, but don't pull me over. Easy, easy now. Okay, let's go around the corner here and see if those gangsta squirrels -- oh, should I say, pussies, are out -- nope, they aren't out, Gus.
Do you want to skip all these cold ass puddles, Gusser? All right, we can walk up Dewey St. for a while. Let's go back on the sidewalk, Gus. Sit. Good dog! Okay, let's go!
All, right. Take it easy. You're nearing the scene of the crime. No need to pull me over again. Because if you pull me over it'll be our last walk. Short leash for a while. Let's go out in the street for a while here. All right across the intersection, now up the sidewalk by the park. Okay, Gus, around the corner here, and let's go home, Gus.
Okay, Gus, take it easy, buddy. Let's go out in the street by Colin's here. Back on the sidewalk and it's a straight shot home. Oh, you gotta poo? All right then, go poo. Now, sit. Stay. Good dog. You're not gonna start making me do balance tricks are you now, Gus? Picking up your poo with one hand while I hold your leash with the other?
Dag, Gus, I'm pooping out now. Next winter I'm going mall walking the first day I can't make it outside. Let's go around the corner here by the old lady's house. Looks like they're back from Florida. Okay, Gus, just one more intersection, then we're almost home.
Up the driveway, don't pull me over now, for God's sake. Let me put the poo bag in the trash barrel. Okay, Gus, we made it goddamn it, we made it!
